Woodside Parent’s Nursery School (WPNS) is a four-year parent-participation preschool that provides children the opportunity to enhance their cognitive abilities and learn social skills by exploring their environment and interacting with each other under the guidance of skilled teachers. Founded in 1973, eighty young students, ages 2-6, are enrolled in the school each year. The purpose of the school is to provide an exemplary environment in which parents can actively participate in the classroom and realize an unparalleled chance to give shape to their children's early education experience.

Snuggled in a quiet, woodsy setting, the WPNS facility offers four distinct learning areas that allow our children to grow through play and exploration. Whether digging in the native plant garden, riding bikes, playing dress-up or performing a play, making fabulous art, or creating in the sandbox, the nursery school is a place where children can learn to make choices within the safety of a traditional preschool program.

As a premier accredited preschool, Woodside Parents’ Nursery School is recognized by the National Association for the Education of Young Children. Since 1985, NAEYC has offered a national, voluntary accreditation system to set professional standards for early childhood education programs, and to help families identify high-quality programs. Today, NAEYC Accreditation represents the mark of quality in early childhood education. Over 7,500 child care programs, preschools, early learning centers, and other center- or school-based early childhood education programs are currently NAEYC-Accredited. These programs provide high quality care and education to nearly one million young children in the United States.
