Co-op Spirit

The Cooperative Spirit
Congratulations on being interested in a co-op! There is no doubt your child will benefit from the consistent presence of a group of parents and teachers who love and care for them. You and your family will also benefit from the strong community and relationships that you will build at WPNS. One of the things that makes WPNS such a unique place are the parents - the gift of time, the special talents and their dedication to all of our children.

Parents are involved in every facet of the School including participating in the classroom, serving on a committee and keeping the facility operating effectively. Parent meetings serve as a forum for discussion, parent education, current news and events. In addition, parents serve on an annually-elected Board of Directors which governs the School.

Membership Duties
To fulfill our co-op responsibilities, we all must:

Participate as a "working-parent" in the classroom (approximately 2-3 times a month)
Serve on at least one committee
  Attend parent meetings (approximately every-other-month)
Participate in one "Community Rebuilding Day" (one 4-hr session offered per semester)
Support our fundraisers to the best of your ability
Submit prompt payment of tuition and fees
Bylaws, Rules and Procedures
Governance of the WPNS community is administered through the comprehensive Bylaws and Standing Rules. A copy of the Bylaws is available electronically and is given to each family at the time of enrollment.
