Karen is very excited to join our school. She is a highly qualified early childhood educational professional with 17 years experience as an assistant director and head teacher, mentoring staff, communicating with parents, teaching children and developing creative preschool curriculum. As an assistant director she was responsible for assisting in the daily operations of the preschool. One highlight from her job was developing and implementing parent education classes which resulted in stronger relationships with parents. As a teacher she was responsible for a classroom of children, creating and providing activities during free choice time, music time, small group time and playground time.
Karen holds the following California State Credentials: Early Childhood Education Teaching Certificate, State of California Commission on Teacher Credentialing Child Development Site Supervisor Permit and Associate of Science Degree in Early Childhood Education. Karen also serves as a Professional Growth Advisor with the CCTC (California Commission on Teacher Credentialing) and is enrolled in an Instructor Certification program with Hand in Hand in Palo Alto. Karen is excited about her new role at WPNS and hopes to encourage teamwork, laughter and strong, lasting relationships with children, parents and staff.
Karen has two grown daughters, Jennifer in Redwood City, and Alexandra in San Jose. In her free time Karen loves to spend time with her two grandsons, Cooper and Colton. She enjoys running, reading, going to the movies, and being with friends and family.
