Class Overview
On a typical day, the children arrive to find many activities laid out in the classrooms and outdoor playground. Teachers and parents help supervise and initiate play until "circle time" when the children are welcomed to school and learn about the various themes of the day. Each class has a team of teachers and 2-3 working parents, which results in an excellent adult/child ratio allowing for plenty of individualized guidance and attention.

After circle time, the children are free to choose from the many planned activities including art and science projects, reading, music, dramatic play and outdoor fun!

A break from play comes mid-morning so that the children can enjoy a nutritious snack and conversation with their friends and teachers. Play resumes after snack until the second circle time wraps up the day with singing, reading and saying good-bye. M,W,F and Pre-K always end their day with a small group activity.

The WPNS program offers a well-balanced range of age appropriate activities based on both free choice and structure. Children learn how to make decisions and work together to solve problems. Our program develops the whole-child while focusing on social, emotional, cognitive and physical growth at the individual level.
